Over the last several years, I've introduced my elementary school students to the idea of doodling as a way to relax and calm themselves down. The kids were immediately drawn to the meditative activity - their schedules are packed with school, homework, extracurriculars, and the repetitive nature of doodling gives them the much needed time and space to unwind, without the pressure of having a perfect drawing at the end.
Drawing has always been intimidating for me, but I've found that working with the kids on these doodles gave me the confidence to jump in as well.
So here is what we are thinking - a book with 15-20 images like the one you see here. This one is 'filled in' but the book will contain outlines of images, so you can color and doodle as much or as little as you desire. We hope this will bring a meditative moment to your day too!
